The ReportCaster Console Global Updates tool helps you quickly update values stored in multiple schedules and scheduling tools. As of WebFOCUS 8.2 Version 04, you can use the globalUpdates log file to keep a detailed record of any global updates you initiate. This feature enables you to keep track of all past updates, and enables you to comply with the regulatory auditing requirements of your organization.
To access the globalUpdates log file, launch the Administration Console, click the Diagnostics tab, and then click Log Files. The following image shows the link to click to view the globalUpdates, log and the Log Level options menu for the globalUpdates log. This log is set to INFO, by default.
The globalUpdates log file records changes to the following values:
Each log entry displays information in the following format.
[YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss,sss] INFO [Thread Identifier]User_ID - Database Table DATABASE TABLE NAME - Global Update VALUETYPE of Old Value: old value to New Value: new value
The following example shows a global update log entry.
